Associate Professor of Orthodontics & Postgraduate Program Coordinator

Dr. Moschos A. Papadopoulos is Associate Professor and Postgraduate Program Coordinator at the Department of Orthodontics, School of Dentistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Dr. Papadopoulos has served as Vice President of the Hellenic Professional Union of Orthodontists, as Treasurer and Vice Secretary General of the Stomatological Society of Northern Greece, and as Member of the Board of Trustees of the Greek Orthodontic Society and of the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece. He received his Dental Degree from the School of Dentistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 1986, his Doctorate Degree and his Certificate in Orthodontics from the School of Dentistry of the University of Freiburg, Germany, in 1988 and 1990 respectively. Dr. Papadopoulos has also served as Research Collaborator at the Department of Experimental Surgery, Swiss Research Institute, Davos, Switzerland.

Dr. M. A. Papadopoulos is Editor of the "Hellenic Orthodontic Review", Assoc. Editor of "Stoma" and served as Asst. Editor of the "World Journal of Orthodontics". He is or served also as Member of the Editorial Board of 10 peer reviewed journals, including the "American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics", as well as Referee of 24 orthodontic, dental and medical journals. He is also an active member in 9 Greek and 6 international societies, federations and unions.

Dr. M. A. Papadopoulos has received the "A. Tsoukanelis Award" of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1993), the "Annual Scientific Award" of the German Association of Plastic Surgeons (2004), as well as the "Joseph E. Johnson Clinical Award” of the American Association of Orthodontists (2009).

The main clinical and research interests of Dr. M. A. Papadopoulos include the subjects of "noncompliance orthodontic treatment", "use of miniscrew implants as temporary anchorage devices in orthodontic treatment", and "evidence based orthodontics". Dr. M. A. Papadopoulos has written the book entitled "Orthodontic treatment for the Class II non-compliant patient: Current principles and techniques", has published more than 140 scientific publications, and has presented more than 220 lectures, courses and papers in many countries around the world.
